Kedarnath June 2013

Massive devastation took place when a giant dam burst releasing a 10 foot high wall of freezing water and sweeping away everything in its path.
Killing 150 people inside the oldest Hindu temple in India and wiping out 50 of the surrounding villages. To date around 3,600 victims who disappeared, have not been found, and are presumed dead.
As China and India continue to fight for the water rights, giant dams are being built in the Himalayas to contain the water, causing concern for environmental reprocusisons & safety of those who live beneath the mountain range.
